Palazzo Palmieri

Palazzo Palmieri, located in Monopoli’s historic center, is a prime example of late Baroque architecture inspired by Lecce. Commissioned by Francesco Paolo Palmieri in the late 18th century, the palace remained under the Palmieri family’s ownership until 1921. It features over a hundred rooms, many adorned with frescoes, and includes a gallery overlooking an external loggia designed to display art collections and ancient artifacts. Since 2023, Palazzo Palmieri has served as the headquarters for Monopolele, the Mediterranean Ukulele Festival. During the festival, the palace hosts a variety of activities, including free introductory ukulele lessons, instrument exhibitions, and workshops led by renowned artists. It operates daily from 10:00 to 20:00 throughout the festival, providing a central hub for attendees to engage with the event’s offerings.
