Son de Sol at Monopolele

Voices, strings, rhythm — and a journey across the ocean

Son de Sol is an all-female musical project born in Cuba, rooted in vocal harmony, string instruments and Afro-Caribbean rhythm.
Their music is collective, physical, joyful — and deeply connected to the idea of community that has always been at the heart of Monopolele – Mediterranean Ukulele Fest.

Bringing Son de Sol to Monopoli is not just about hosting a concert.
It is about making space for an encounter between cultures, voices and stories that would otherwise never meet.

This was not just a fundraising campaign.
It was a shared act of trust — a clear signal that this project matters to many.

Because of that support, all international flights are now fully covered.

Reaching Italy is only part of the journey.

To welcome Son de Sol properly and allow them to take part in the festival with dignity and serenity, we still need support for the final and very concrete steps:

• Ground transportation (Rome ↔ Monopoli): approx. €4,000
• Food and accommodation during the festival: approx. €6,000

These are not abstract costs.
They are the conditions that allow artists to be present, rested, cared for — and fully part of the Monopolele experience.

Donations made through the Monopolele website (just follow this link) will go entirely toward covering transportation, food and accommodation costs.

We are also open to non-monetary forms of support, such as:
