Peter, has been playing the ukulele since his 8th birthday. After mastering the basics,
Peter’s father introduced him to his mentor, Ray Bernard, from whom he learned solo chord melody.
From that moment on, Peter became focused on this style. He was also influenced by the recordings
of Roy Smeck from the USA and this is evident in his concert material.
Peter was the first person to perform the William Tell Overture, at the wee age of 12, winning a
national competition against seasoned players! A proud moment for his dad, for sure! Peter
spent 30 years exploring other instruments as well and contributing to various recording
projects.
Returning exclusively to his first love, around about 2013, his performance skills and his audience
grew exponentially!
He and his ukuleles toured America and Canada, been on BBC Radio and Television and then in
20162019 he engaged in a worldwide tour appearing at the Sunshine Coast Festival (twice),
Newcastle and Melbourne ukulele festivals in Australia, New Zealand, and the infamous “Ukulele
Festival of Scotland” (twice) with close to 30 international performers.
His concerts are engaging, many facetted, including humorous as well as intense material. Always
one with his audience, he is at home on the stage.
His workshops are varied, many to choose from, and always enjoyable for all levels of experience.
